Ekin Saçlıoğlu
Ekin Saçlıoğlu creates in disciplines such as painting, sculpture, drawing, and installation and uses a rich variety of materials. Inversion and dualities such as fiction-real, natural-artificial, animate and inanimate as well as memory, dreams and memories, stories and tales, animals and plants, and the relationship of different species present themselves in her work through metaphors.
The artist sometimes brings together the fictional and real world with the image of a pothole while sometimes asking us to reflect on the ways people become invisible in social and political life through animal camouflage. Images of extinct animals and plants point to the problems of existence in the human world. She asks us to think about the phenomenon of time through creating fictional ruins by breaking down the imaginary civilizations and structures she has established. The living and non-living beings mix, merge and disperse within these structures where man is not at the forefront.
